There is a central eagle medallion with floral pattern surrounding it. The border is flowers with vines all around. All of the flowers are solid red with yellow, calico centers. The eagle is solid red with a green, calico shield. There are yellow stars on the shield and also on the eaglenulls wings. A green, calico fabric outlines the eagle, shield, vines, leaves and border. The quilting stitches outline the appliques and follow a stamped design on the white background fabric. The back is white. Inscriptions: Stamped: TOP 3 & 4. Stamped along bottom. Off.) 100 o/o Cotton Embroider with nullperi-Lusta.null" Exhibition History: Rothman gallery, F&M College, Fall 1994. Collection or Donor: From the Robert L. Schaeffer Jr. Collection donated to the college in 1987. It is said that Schaeffer (American 1918-2001), an avid collector of American folk art, often crossed paths with the Duponts. The collection largely represents a narrow geographic region consisting of Pennsylvania German objects and was accumulated over four decades.
