This project of creative nonfiction chronicles the tenuous and dynamic race relations in Zimbabwe from the author’s perspective as a young, white Zimbabwean. Using her experiences and family as the foundation, she has explored what it means to be a white body in Zimbabwe, and how violence and history influence the way that Zimbabweans live. Incorporating historical events in Zimbabwe from the mid-20th century to present day, this work transgresses the boundaries of the memoir, into the territory of the lyric and personal essay.
