Physical Description: Signed on Front " Landscape with Green, Artistnulls Proof, Helen Gerardia. "Helen Gerardia has had ten one man exhibitions of her paintings and prints in New York City. Her traveling shows in both media as well as drawings and monoprints have been shown in over 200 museums, art centers, colleges and universities including the Albany Institute of History and Art, the Swope gallery of Art in Indiana, the Fine Arts Museum Abilene, Texas, the Holyoke Museum in Massachusetts, and the Decatur Center in Illinois among others. She has been awarded over sixty prizes and four Fellowships. Her work is in the collections of 75 museums, art centers, universities and colleges including the National Collection, the Library of Congress, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Philadleophia Museum and has been on loan to the Museum of Modern Art. She has been included in group shows at the Whitney Museum, the Corcoran Gallery Bienniel in Washington, D.C., the Museum of the City of New York, the Denver childrennulls Museum and in the Stedlijke Museum in Holland as well as group shows in England, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Spain, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, India, Japan, Mexico, South America, North Africa, China and Israel. She has given demonstrations in etching, lithography, monoprint, painting and mixed media for the Norfolk Museum the National Association of Women Artists, the American Society of Contemporary Art and the National Society of Painter in Casein and Acrylic as well as private institutions. She has made exclusive editions of her prints for Collector of American Art, the American Associated artists, Society of American Graphic Artists, and the Woodstock Artists Association in Woodstock, New York. She is past president of the National Association of Women Artists and the American Societ y of Contemporary Artists and is on the permanent advisory board of both organizations. She is an officer of the Society of American Graphic Artists and the United States Committee of the International Association of Art. She has represented the United States in five International Congresses. Her biography as an artist is on file in the Archives of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. and is available on microfilm.
